Morning Study Hall Program

Morning supervision will not be available until 8:10 AM.  For those of you interested, we will be offering a supervised “study hall” each morning for a small cost.  Morning study hall hours will be Monday, 7:45 – 9:15, Tuesday – Friday, 7:45 – 8:15.  Students should not be dropped off before 7:45 unless they are in band as no supervision will be available.  Please click here for more information.

Late Start Mondays

Beginning on Monday, August 26 and for each Monday that school is in session, the school day for students will start at 9:30am.  Busses will pick up students one hour later than their regular morning pickup time.  Students will be dismissed at their regular time at the end of the day and bus drop off times in the afternoon will be unchanged.

PTO Emmons Spiritwear

PTO Scrip Program 2014

Scrip is a program that allows you to purchase prepaid cards for full face value, then redeem them for full face value, and Emmons keeps the difference as revenue.  Fundraising could not be easier.  We all shop for gas, groceries, clothing, go out to eat each and every day.  Put your dollars to work and raise money at the same time for Emmons PTO!  It's exciting because everybody wins.  Click here for the new updated form for 2014.  Please be sure to check out the order form often as there are always new retailers.  Mariano's and Dairy Queen just joined last month.  Ordering can also be done online at www.shopwithscrip.com.  Create a family account and our school enrollment code is 2LC731LD7847.  Keep in mind all orders are due on the 15th and 30th of each month by 3:30 pm.  Below is a list of due dates for your convenience.

Spirit Assemblies

Please note that Spirit Assembly times were changed from the afternoon to the mornings starting in October 2013.  Future assemblies will start at 8:40am.  After the assembly, students will follow the late start Monday schedule with the first class starting at 9:35. 

The next assembly is on Thursday, May 22.

PTO Auction on May 2, 2014

We are proud to announce The Emmons Grade School PTO Annual Auction will be held Friday, May 2, from 7-11 p.m.  We will once again be at the Lehmann Mansion in Lake Villa with appetizers and desserts. Our theme this year is James Bond: License to Bid!


The Silent Auction preview begins at 6:30 p.m. and the Live Auction begins at 7:30 p.m. We will have raffles all night long including the 50/50 Roulette Wheel raffle and an iPad Mini in the glass box just waiting for you to purchase the winning key. The form to pre-purchase tickets for the event will be sent home; tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. And don’t forget to purchase your Auction Vacation Raffle ticket for a chance to win a $2000 vacation certificate; winner will be drawn at the auction.


Last year, we made $23,000 that supported our school and our kids. Our goal this year is to bring in $30,000 to help with technology purchases for classrooms. Please join us for an evening of fun and lively bidding to benefit the children of Emmons Grade School.

Kindergarten Screening

Kindergarten Screening will take place on Tuesday, May 6 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm and on Wednesday, May 7 from 8:30am to 11:00am. 

Parents Night Out on April 25 Cancelled

The Parents Night Out that was scheduled for Friday, April 25th, has been cancelled.  We will let you know if or when a new date is scheduled.  Thank-you to all the families that make this a successful event!!

New Email system and Email Addresses for Emmons School

During Spring Break, Emmons School has transitioned to a new email system.  All email addresses now end with @emmons33.org.  For example, Mrs. Moser’s email address is now cmoser@emmons33.org.  E-Mails sent to the old emmons-school.com addresses are being forwarded to the new addresses - emails to cmoser@emmons-school.com are being forwarded to cmoser@emmons33.org automatically.  Click here for a list of teachers and staff email addresses.  If you have emailed someone at Emmons and have not received a response, please follow up with a phone call to that particular teacher or staff member.  Also, please check to make sure that emails from emmons33.org are not going into your email’s spam folder. 

2014-15 Registration

2014-2015 Registration packets for students currently in Kindergarten through 7th grade went home last week. Students entering Kindergarten, 3rd Grade, and 6th Grade will need to provide Proof of Residency. Registration packets will be due to the district office by Friday, April 25, 2014. The district will NOT be hosting a registration/residency event this summer. All registration materials must be received before 2014-2015 student information is distributed in August.

No Study Hall or Late Bus on Thursday, April 17

There will be no Study Hall, Track Practice, or Late Bus on Thursday, April 17.  School will be closed on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21.  Classes resume on Tuesday, April 22.
